Has anyone heard of inter-corea recruiting agency. Question They have been very persistant in trying to hook me up with a job. I would prefer to deal directly with the school, but using a recruiter may be more efficient. Confused If anyone has a tip on inter-corea or a good recruiter let me know. Very Happy

Recruiting companies and the law

A sample:
1. Are you registered with the Korean Labor Board? What is your license number?
2. Have you personally visited the Employer and ascertained the working conditions?
3. Have you personally seen the proposed premises and accommodation?
4. Do you have authority to negotiate contractual changes, or merely convey them to the Employer?
5. Most importantly, ask if the recruiter/company is actually part of an education Franchise, and are you being recruited for a school within their own franchise system, thus their independent objectivity may be biased.
6. Some recruiters have comprehensive web sites, though some of the information is somewhat different to reality, however, these recruiters are to be preferred over those who hide behind mere e-mail address

Ask your recruiter those 6 questions.

Dalton...that was funny... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Most recruiters do not have any of those and still some of them do a fine job.

A good recruiter can lok after the well-being of the prospective teacher if he or she has a network in Korea.

Also, there is a difference between a representative and a recruiter.

What's funny? The fact that a bogus recruiting outfit is getting prospective teachers to mail them their diplomas and other docs? The fact that some recruiters represent a chain but don't tell prospective teachers? Or just the simple fact that some recruiters just pass on a resume and pic for $1000 and walk away? Check the blacklists and you'll find recruiters well represented.

As for your other 'statements' involving most, some and good, come on guy? Statistics please? You know every recruiter in Korea? Every teacher in Korea who ever used a recruiter?

Homer just come out and say you recruit and resent any implication that recruiters are less than angelic or think before you post maybe?

It's not a joke when people get screwed around Homer.

The OP asked for info. I gave him a link to an article about recruiters.
If you think the article is false then get a lawyer and sue EFL law for putting it on their site. They have an article on their site about the internet and libel laws in Corea. That should help you.
