Can anyone shed any light on obtaining a H! (H1-B) visa??

i am planning to stay here for longer than 3 months visiting girlfriend and other friends but don't want to have tio leave every 90 days on visa run?

If you are referring to a Holiday working Visa, go to http://www.workingholiday.com . If you are from the right country, fly to a third country after you get all the details you need to get the visa. Apply for the visa in a third country, then fly back.
Also, http://www.geocities.com/h1_visa from immigrations info book.
You need about $6,000 Australian, a travel plan, and no problems.
