yeah, it's one of the best systems in the world, if not the best.

but the hours are poor. you'd think a city where children are studying in academies until 3am would have 24h public transportation.

a plea to all waygooks - don't forget to give up your seat for that ajumma. we need all the good PR we can get in this country.

the novelty of the subway wears off after about a week in korea. i took the bus and subway every day for a year and i couldn't stand it anymore. the garlic breath .. staring ... no place to sit. getting hired on at a uni with a 7 min walk to class was a dream come true.

I love the Seoul Subway. Only thing I miss is whats above ground when I go across town. One day I was coming come from teaching and the subway broke down. I got off and grabbed a cab home and was amazed at what I saw.

Do wish they ran it later at night, say to 2 or 3 AM but I heard the deal the city cut with the cab drivers was they would shut it off at midnight/1AM so the cabbies could make money on the drunks going home and make up the lost revenue from when the subway is running

The subway in Seoul is great. Imagine trying to get around without it!
