If you're home visiting family or about to come back to Korea and want to get some free posters to decorate your bare classroom walls, one good idea is to visit a couple of travel agents and ask them if they have any old posters they don't want anymore.

During my last trip home to Canada, I visited a few places and explained that I was an English teacher working in Korea, and asked if they had any old travel posters of Canada, the US, UK, etc.; they gave me a ton of stuff. Most travel agencies have a ton of these cluttering up their storage closets, and they'd be happy to part with some of it if you ask them nicely. Certainly made my classroom look nicer.

That sounds like a really great idea, may do that the next time I head back. Thanks for the tip.

Badman,

No probs! There's a lot of free posters available on the Internet as well if you do a search for "free poster" or "free educational materials". However it's a bit of a hassle emailing each site, and pretty iffy if the stuff ever arrives in the mail. Worth a look, though, if you're interested.

I suggest emailing places that have alot of posters made, for example The MET, The ROM, museums and art galleries with shows and telling them what you are doing, and why you want them. I, in the past got tonnes of free stuff that way. I personally like using Mapsfor class room eye candy, everytime I go somewhere I grab up as many free tourist maps as I can get.

trouble is, if you put up anything too cool on your wall you have to keep your eye on it...otherwise it'll vanish.

So many sticky fingers, those who think they have more rights to your property thatn you do.
