|

I have been to both these airports but I have never spent a lot of time at the duty free shops. I am going down next week to Phuket and have been asked to pick up some perfume. Since I will hit both does anyone know anything about one or both of these duty free stores in relation to perfume? |

Both are good but Incheon does have a lot of perfume.
Not to be a pain or anything but......duty free is a load of crap.
You can find it much cheaper with a little bit of looking.
Maybe once upon a time it was good but nowdays the savings are so marginal.
Plus, you are going to Phuket...just get some fake stuff. |

You can find better deals than duty free in Bangkok, but not necessarily in Korea. A Chanel lipstick costs around $30 in department stores here. It is $15 in Tokyo Department Store in Bangkok, and the same in Incheon duty free.
I got a bottle of Laphroaig single malt scotch for $30 in Ha Noi, it was $36 in Bangkok, I don't remember the price in Incheon. I've never seen it sold anywhere outside of duty free in any of the countries of those airports.
Most cosmetics prices are around the same range comparatively as the chanel lipstick.
Candy, cookies, a lot of alcohol and wine, and some other goodies may not be a bargain in duty free. |

I think that Inchon is not too bad as far as prices. I have seen some things there cheaper than in HK and Singapore. I have a Lotte DFS VIP Gold Card, and I get an extra 15% off the price. This means that the price in Korea is usually better than other places.
My new MP3 is a YEPP, one of the tiny ones, and it was about 100000W cheaper at a store in Singapore that here, and the GST is refundable at the airport- I think that it is the same in Thailand.
Hope that this helps. |
