I have to think about it when I tell people how old I am. Answers may vary. |

I have the same problem as crazylemongirl. I can say the building number, but my apartment number??? Can't remember how to say it in English!
The other day, someone asked me what "service" (serbisuh) was in English. I SWEAR I couldn't remember!!! Finally, a Korean student who had spent some time in the States helped me out....

LOL! That, plus I use stuff like, 'eye-shopping', 'handapone', 'cola', wayyy too frequently. I can't remember the last time I called a 'dambae', anything else. Oi vey.
As for counting, I have found myself over the years to now exclusively refer to denominations of won, in Korean. Such a pain in the ass to say it in English to a Korean and have to sit through them counting and tracing all the zeros in mid-air, when trying to decipher '3 million Won'.
And at my office, every Korean has their names reversed in English fashion. Jiyoon Kim, Juno Park, etc...I find it so difficult to not say it reversed in Korean style.
And I remember howling with laughter a few months ago, when a young, bright student would say manwon in english. Not, "I have 2 man'un", but like "2 manwahn".
I think I better get to a beach in Thailand and light up a fat blunt on the asap. |

No, no, no... "eye shopping" in proper English means that you're going out shopping to buy eyes, while of course "window shopping" means you're out, erm, shopping for, um, windows... [/i] |
