I think the games are really badly explained even in Korean. I asked my copy boy ( the other english speaker at my school) to translate them for me. He came back and was really embarassed because he couldn't understand what they wanted you to do. He explained what the book said, and I got a rough idea- enough to build a game from anyway.

Mods: maybe this should be split?

since the post does not specify exactly what type of academies they are I mentioned a valid reason why they might be having trouble if they were English academies.

It is far more likely, based on how you phrased your statement and your past writing examples, that you were hoping to proclaim a connection in how your job was directly dragging down academy owners. And I just rained on your parade because I took away your bragging rights.

After I again have enlightened your world, again you skip thanking me for my enlightening words and instead jump into attacking me with the amateurish insults.

Yet again an assinine posting by the ego know as gord. YAWN Rolling Eyes

I should have ran with the lie that you and your 99 coworkers were directly responsible for the student reduction elsewhere of thousands of students despite having no evidence to support this theory?

Oh yes in other posts where you claim that I agree with you I guess that I will just have to write THIS IS SARCASM YOU DUMB &^$*^%*^ so that your meager IQ can grasp the point being made.

Why does it pain you so when I highlight the correct answer in which you agree your previous position was in error? I don't correct you to damn you, I correct you to enlighten you and release you from the shackles of lies that hold you back. I am your salvation.

I have always been inclined to presume Gord to be correct simply because you start spinning into a fury and calling him names like "assmunch". This is behaviour for the students, I'm afraid, not the teachers.

One of the reasons I stoop to classroom insults is they are one of the few forms of communication this schmuck is probably able to grasp.

His ability to jump to conclusions leads me to the hope that someday he will do it next to a cliff or a balcony on a tall tall building, preferably something near the top. Thereby ridding the world of his presence.

It is far more likely that you are once again jumping to conclusions....as usual misinformed and off topic.

My one job is probably having little impact on hogwan owners, but the sheer number of native speakers being put into schools at all levels will have an impact and thats a fact!

You are unable to rain on my parade as everything you say is like the babbling of a monkey, incoherent and not of much import except to the other monkeys AF and tmkatm.

Once again you have bored me...yawn.

Congratulations Grotto. Gord has left you so unable to conduct a counter-argument that you have had to take refuge in an entirely separate message board so you can call him names there.

Pride is one of the seven sins, and in that sense you are pure and good, as you evidently have none.

do you have any evidence to the contrary.. did I say we are directly responsable? No I said it is probably one of the reasons...you are the clown jumping to conclusions and posting crap.

bragging to brag:
Main Entry: 2brag
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): bragged; bragging
intransitive senses : to talk boastfully : engage in self-glorification
transitive senses : to assert boastfully

did I say I am single handidly bringing down he hogwans? No! Just another stupid attack by you trying to circumvent the reality of the situation. The addition of native speakers to all levels of education may have a serious impact on the hogwans. Key word here is 'may'.

You couldnt enlighten a turnip if you tried. I am so far above your level of physical and spiritual enlightenment. You however cast a dismal pal over all that you touch like a cancerous leperous sore.

Wow I wasnt aware that these after school academies (5) taught all these subjects. That must be one hell of an academy to teach that many subjects. Why doesnt the Korean government close all publc schools and let this magical hogwan take over, Why it would save billions (oh yeah this is sarcasm you dumb%$#^&^)

Um...hate to get in this as it is so damn ugly but.....my middle school students to go to academies that practically mirror our school. They teach math, science, english, chinese/japanese. They even use the supplemental books that the company that makes our school books.

The students leave school maybe go to one hogwan and then they go to academies. They are frequently there from 5 or 6 to 10 or 11. During test time they are there until 12 or 1 o'clock.

I have seen the books and know a couple of teachers (mothers of my students) that work in these academies.

I am not trying to get in this arguement I just want to clarify how some academies work and yes they do mirror the public school.

I hate to distract from this by referring back to the thread topic, but the main reason for the drop in students is pretty obvious. There are fewer children and thus fewer students.

Grotto: Gord is aggravating, but don't go overboard it doesn't get you anywhere.

I almost wish that was happening to my hagwon, we're getting lots of new kids and we're going to have to split some classes soon, but then the school seems to plowing all its profits into expanding new schools which will probably result in it getting over-extended.
