I used MasterSplitter to break a 700Mb flick into halves. Unfortunately, these halves are in a format (.001,.002) not conducive to watching film.

What to do? Someone on a board glibly suggested renaming the file, which I foolishly tried to no avail. How can I convert these files (or extract them, or whatever) so that I can burn them onto CDRWs to be enjoyed on my Sexbox?

I use Mainconcept MPEG Convertor. It recodes avi and mpeg files so that you can burn them to vcds and svcds easily. You can also choose the maximum size for each file.
