No idea. Uninstall it and see what gives. |

Rather than download SP2 I clicked on the button on the update site asking MS to mail me the SP2 disk- it was free and came in 4 days by courier. I still haven't installed it though; I figure they'll be putting out SP2 updates and patches any time now, and THAT is when I'll install it.

Well, Spysweeper isn't a full-blown anti-virus program, is it?
You'll still want to have one of those! |

I loaded SP2 on my Toshiba Tecra 8100 running XP and had no problems. I have heard of compatability issues, though, with other software.
I'd suggest first going to your computer makers website to see if there are any known issues.
To fix your specific issues you could try:
1) uninstall your video driver and then re-install (get from maker's website) to fix resolution issue.
2) uninstall and re-install messenger.
I know these aren't genious insights, but give them a try and see if they work. If not, then try a reinstall of SP2. |

Also, forgot to add. Make sure your bios are updated before reinstalling SP2. |

Thanks for calling me on that. With T-dot's issues BIOS wouldn't be a cause.
Though, there have been many issues with SP2 and outdated BIOS. Google "SP2 + BIOS". For example, Dell recommends updating before loading SP2
