Is it acceptable to shave your head in Korea?

It's traditionally associated with being a criminal. More recently, with being a soldier. Korean men actually wear their hair quite long, I think. No ponytails, but usually two-three inches long. I think it's because they don't sweat as much as we do in the humid weather. That said, I have had friends, both bald and non-bald, that shaved their heads. It never got more than a grunt from Koreans on the street, and it was a good conversation starter with girls. Sooo....don't worry about it.

shave mine with a razor every week, as do quite a few of us here. get the looks though, kids love it, girls love to touch it, and by crikey i like to have it touched! anyway, there seems to be no problem here with a shaved head, but a mohawk .....welll did that once for a day, got lost on the way home and kept wondering why people wouldnt stop to help a my poor a$$, finally clicked!dumba$$.

Well, I see this Korean girl dancing at the clubs in Hongdae sometimes and she has a shaved head. So disgusting and strange for a Korean gal...U-G-L-Y

E-mart, Carrerfour and Hi-Mart in Bundang have clippers for cheap. I bought mine at E-mart for 30k. Work fine.
