The 'gender division' through middle- and high-school here has contributed to arrested social development. I teach university freshmen, and most of their energy is devoted to picking up where they left off, seven years ago. Instead of candlelight romance, they're still punching and hair-pulling, just like twelve-year-olds. I pity them all; I really do.
