Not that I care to take part in this moot topic...but I am curious to see how some of the Irish educators take to associating the IRA to terrorists.

i don't mind this curfew right now because i'm on extra duty and restriction for another 42 days and afterwards i only have a little more then 2 months left in the army and during that time i can just save money and have my gf come onto base...
sometimes i get embarrassed and feel ashamed the way some of my fellow g.i.'s act when out and about...
a large percentage of soldiers, especially enlisted members have really no cultural sensitivity or a real outlook on the world and think they are "back on the block" and are invincible or something...so i can understand the very tarnished image embedded in a lot of folks minds of the u.s. military, especially overseas here in korea...
the original midnight during the week and 1 a.m. on the weekend curfew that was installed here after 9/11 (which i also got busted for) does make sense and cuts down on a lot of incidents, especially those involving alcohol. the various anti-american/pro communist groups are always ready to capitalize and scrutinize on any negative issues that they can get their hands on so i think the u.s. government is just trying to save face and keep people in check... |

Muslims are not trusted and seen as the instigators of violence and terror in over 30 countries around the world. Someone posted a list earlier.
Call it racism, stereotyping, or whatever you want. I will not hush down because of some liberal whining about the "race card", "Stereotyping", "Profiling", or whatever.
As far as Muslims are concerned, I call it being smart.
By the way, I don't see "Irish terrorism", as you call it, taking place in many other countries. I don't see Timothy McVeigh and his group blowing up buildings and murdering innocent people in Australia. Their beef pretty much stays at home.
The Muslim religion, however, is responsible for grudges and terrorism in virtually every "infidel" non-muslim country bordering one of their own. |

A valid point in attacking Islamists, though I suspect some would say they have the smarts McVeigh & the IRA lack: to murder & maim away from home.

Again: not Muslims. Does it make any sense to you when terrorists say ALL Americans are evil, imperial, blood-drinking infidels? Of course not.
But in aiming your vitriol at all Muslims, you are closely aligning yourself with the very people you hate so much. |

hey, is gollum the same person who started the 'narc'ing on the teacher thread. And now he/she's talking smack about groups of muslims hanging around itaewon, but not in the mosque, like they're terrorists.
