Wisco, please, keep your disrespect of theism off these forums. That was really an unnecessary comment. There are plenty of websites where you can discuss the issue; this is neither the time, nor the place. Thank you. |
Was this actually a random shot at believers, or a quote from a student? I assumed the latter.
This is not "the funniest" thing I've ever heard from a student, just something that made me smack my forehead today:
Me: Good morning! How are you?
Most of the class: Fine, thank you.
Slightly-out-of-touch kid: TWELVE! |

| Oh if it was a quote from a student, then I retract my statement. As it would therefore be relevant. Pwnt. |

the kid said it. I was suprized since all the examples I was giving were unicorn, sphinx, orc, etc...
Although I agree with the kid, I made a point of telling the class that it was this boy's opinion that God was imaginary, and that others would disagree. |

When writing a paper that introduces the students' families, one of my students wrote:
My father work all the time. He wears a suit. My mother is mistress. She oh very nice. |

I still keep getting a lot of "I ride my dik" stories, but I have run out of "Keep it Up!" stickers. (It's not a swear dodge, it's an inability to spell "bike.")
A new one today: "We go to the borg." (Still learning about vocied and voiceless stops. And vowels.) |

Perhaps in Korean, the word "imaginary" has connotations of "abstract", or "not visible". I honestly don't know, but it's possible that when the kid read the question, he interpreted its meaning differently than from how native speakers normally use the word "imaginary". |

perhaps the kid hit it right on the head!
Imaginary, not real, does not exist in reality.
right up there with Santa, the Easter bunny, vampires, werewolves, and god.
Perhaps Rather dashing should keep his religious fervor off the board! |

I, for one, am not going to stand for these lies.
Vampires do exist. |

No..just plain vampires.
Sheesh...next you'll be trying to tell me that the great god Cthulhu isn't going to rise from the deep and devour us all. |
