| Do any of your schools have techniques to make the kids speak ONLY English in the classrooms? Is there a way to make the kids take a pledge and work out an agreement with the parents? I think 1/2 the time in classes is Korean speaking among the students, which is 99% chatter. Have any of you found a school-wide technique to stop this? |

My system works because my hogwan has a sticker/bribe program going. If the kids collect enough stickers, they win a prize. If your hogwan doesn't have this going, you might have to substitute your own reward.
I like positive reinforcement, so this is my best system. Divide the class into two teams. Give each team 100 points. Each time a team member speaks Korean, or breaks a class room rule, their team loses a point. The winning team gets a sticker/reward. My classes rarely speak Korean, unless someone forgets and slips up.
