I just agree with whatever grammatical form they think it is, and if I don't know the answer to a direct question, I will just say "I am not sure, in Canada, we are not taught that method."
That way, I appear to know my stuff, even if I don't, but pretend that they learned some other way, which they did I guess.
I hate being asked these questions, and avoid them if I can.
But as one previous poster said, they only ask you once in a blue moon, so don't sweat it.
They want to learn conversation mostly, so its not usually a huge concern. The kids hate grammar anyways, just like most of us.
