Does anybody know anything about the PGA golf tournament being held on Jeju Island November 25/26ish? Is anyone planning on making the trip down to watch? |

I'll be there, but I haven't heard anything about tickets yet. My friend and I are planning to be there as much as humanly possible. I'm trying to get my schedule fixed so I can get down there for the early rounds.
When I hear something I'll post it or help anyone who needs info on Jeju. I live here, so I'm going no matter what.

Tiger Woods will play in the tournament according to local published reports over the past 5 months as well as TV news reports saying the same thing. No mention as to what other Pros are coming also. With any luck...Tiger will pull out. |

Sounds like another logistic nightmare already. Crowded hotels and roads. Trying to navigate hoards of Koreans on the cart paths.

Isn't the initiative to put Jeju on the map really doing well? I think the Korean Tourist Association have done a sterling job with Jeju, and this, wow. Fantastic. |

I sense sarcasm in that last post!
Either way, I thought I would share a sentence with you from the recently published JEJU, KOREA, tourist guide. Its about the Miniature Theme Park.
'This would do credit to a general rest area where you can see Mt. Halla near at hand and holds over 100 miniatures of more than 30 countries, including Bulguksa Temple, Jageumseong, Sacre-Coeur Leaning Tower of Pisa, which are selected carefully from famous architectures all over the world, on the site of over 20,000 pyeong with parasitic cones(Oreum) of Jeju spread all around, in addition to Jeju's stone culture, traditional belief, experiencing, learning place, outdoor performance hall, fossil dinosaur.'
Thats all one sentence and makes close to no sense. So, yes, the Korean Tourist Association has done a sterling job. Wow. Fantastic. |

Well regardless, the new hotels, conference / convention center facilities, casino, new hotel resort complexes, consolidation and development of tourist activities (eg. the botanical research and conservation area), substantial increase in tourism from Asia, duty free zone, soccer / sports stadium and winning the chance to host the PGA tour (by anyone's standards a large international sporting event) will surely give testament to the efforts that have been made to promote Jeju as an excellent resort, convention venue, and sporting venue. This is, of course, not all the work of the Korean Tourist Organization, but I think they can take some of the credit. |

Did anyone go to the Korea Open in Cheonan? Ernie Els was there. I probably should have gone to that. |
