I'm keen to come along. My roommate is veggie too so she may want to come along. Does anyone know if they have many vegan options??

I can recommend Country Life a vegan buffet restaurant near Sinsa station(line 3). Exit 3 go down the little street by Starbucks its down on the right side. entrance is kind of opposite cofeee and drinks sign. Restaurant is on 2nd floor. Not open saturdays

I've been here a month, and it's definately tough to be veg, especially in Daejeon (though I counted 2 or 3 veg restaurants in Insa-dong last weekend). I've had to get used to eating fish again, as there seems to be no way to avoid it, especially as I'm already sick of bibimbap. It'd be impossible for me, with my as of yet nonexistant Korean language skills (and no English menus like in Insadong) to be a strict veggie here. Even kimchi has shrimp juice in it, and I'm pretty sure that most of the noodle dishes are served in some kind of meat broth.
Any advice?

I think the easiest way is to get used to cooking for yourself.

cooking in korea sucks though (if you kitchen looks like mine). i had to get used to cooking with only two burners and no stove. i stock up on lots of stuff at costco (veggie burgers, spinach raviolis, etc...) it helps!

If the time and place has changed, please let me know by 6:30pm. After that time I'll be heading to Itaewon station and will be standing in front of the tourist information booth at around 7pm.

I was a vegetarian for seven years. However, I eat meat now because I got tired of shutting myself off from other people. There were so many African dinners and Brazilian lunches that I had to turn down while I was at university. Sure I could have picked at side dishes with no problem, but I started to feel the need to connect with people. Food is a major bonding force. After seven years I gave up my vegetarian fast with a buffalo meat on a Native American Indian reservation. It was a good thing, too, because the next year I moved to Hungary where almost all food contains meat.

To this day I never cook with meat or buy it. If my bowl has meat in it I never complain. I can even eat bulgogi now if a community of teachers are sharing a meal. But, at home my fridge is stocked with tofu and tempeh all the way.
