Has anyone on the boards gone through i-i Ireland?
They are a recruiters for various things like radio stations in Ghana, and they also recruit teachers to schools in Korea. Has anyone here used them? |

I used i - i out of Leeds (think this is where they first started) to sort my job in Korea, to be honest I could have saved myself money and done it myself but you pay them and they sort everything out with a recruiter this end. Very professional but for the ammount of money you spend then I'd say its not really worth it,I only went with it because I didnt know at the time how else to go about it...
As for the volunteer things I looked at them and they are hideously overpriced, a little internet searching and you can find similar things a lot cheaper.....................g luck anyway....if you want any more info pm me...... |

I came to Korea with i-i. Before I went through i-i I tried to find a job myself and I had a nightmare of a time. Emailing hundreds of schools and recruiters my CV etc, speaking to loads of recruiters on the phone, having several phone interviews, and then never hearing from the school or the recruiter again.
I know i-i want a substancial amount of money, but I thought it was completely worth it as they took care of everything. The people I spoke to on the phone were really friendly and helpful, and their Korean contact picked me up at the airport and took me to my apartment and showed me the school. If I have any problems or anything I have reliable people to email.

i to i outsources its recruiting operations to a 3rd party recruiter in Korea named ESL ED. Read i-to-i's contract and terms. Or better yet, read my old thread on them, here.
You're paying $895 for an online TEFL course and an introduction to another recruiter. Unless you want the TEFL course, save your money and email the 60+ other recruiters that don't charge teachers for placement.
Hell, here is ESL ED's email address, free of charge, [email protected]. |

I used the i-to-i in Ireland alright, their base is in Waterford. They have a website or better yet you can just call them. I am happy to say that everything went well, no hiccups. They were very professional and their counterpart in Korea, a guy called John Lee was very good. If he says that he will call you then he does. However with the time change it's a little early so set your alarm!! Don't worry he will let you know before hand. Btw the email address that chronicpride gave is John Lee's
I also did the TEFL course with them in Galway for a weekend and the teacher was excellent. I learned alot from that but I felt that I didn't learn enough in that weekend. A weekend is pretty short after all!!
If you have any questions let me know. |
