I've have some free time for the next couple of weeks and I was wondering if anybody could reccomend a place where I can study conversational Korean?

I've searched the web and found a few aight places, but first hand experiences would also help. Also nothing too pricey as i'm under a budget. Thanks.

there are free classes offered on saturdays at sookmyun women's university at 4:30 - 6:00. i have only been twice. there are different levels, and the beginners' level is PACKED with people - all at different abilities, which can be frusterating. the 1st half of the beginner's course is for more-advanced beginners, but you could take notes and let most of it go over your head. the 2nd half helps with numbers & letters.

Not quite free, it's W1000 per lesson. It helps cover their costs for photcopying and rental of the space.

Still, it's a tough price to beat, and they do a good job.

I wish that more organizations were doing what they're doing.

I really don't wish that (the more organizations thing). I went to that class once and was really dissapointed.

I felt the teacher was.. well, not too bright.

She was teaching Korean names for other countries and going down the list She said �̱� , ������, ����, and Ÿ�̶���. When I asked her about the konglish version of Thailand.. she said it was correct. I asked, "isn't it �±� ? She said NO. I asked if she was sure, and she looked at me (in this class of beginners) as if I didn't know what I was talking about.

OK, i'm no expert. Actually i'm quite lazy and I rarely study. I'm sure I made some mistakes in typing this BUT I know that calling Thailand �±� is a very acceptable form. I'd go so far as to say its accurate

The hting is.. she made a few other comments that I dissagreed with. It's not my place to challenge her and i'm not skilled enough to correct her BUT I decided not to bother going again. Why waste my time learning the wrong thing?

Go to Kyobo bookstore and get the first book of Seoul National Univ. �ѱ���1 (can be found in the foreign book section) and become familiar with the basics of Korean grammar.

Ive found a few classes out there. Check your local universitys the language departments, any YMCA/YWCAs, and I also know of one church that offers free lessons before service.

Oh, and of course the 'search' function on this site is wonderful as well. Helped me many times.
