so, I got my f2-1 today and asked the immigration officer and for those of you who don't know:
f2 is if you are a foreigner wanting to live long term in korea and f2-1 is if you are a foreigner married to a korean and wanting to live long term in korea.
now I finally know this |

After all that confusing, I am glad we finally know. Thanks.

The f visa is a "family visa." As in, the Korean family. As in, you are part of zee Korean master-race. Zee F-2 1 is given begrudgingly to foreign running dogs that beguile naive Koreans into marrying them. |

Both visas are issued to people married to Koreans. The F2 is for dependants of Koreans wishing to visit/remain in Korea in this capacity i.e. you cannot work. The F2-1 allows a person married to a Korean to work.In both cases your spouse is your sponsor. |
