Yup, md'er stands for metal detector because it sounds less nerdy Smile
And I'm talking about the critters in Korea (the big yellow spiders with black legs). I heard that those big yellow/black spiders are an introduced species. They were in Tawian, too. Looked the same.

I had one of those things hanging near my old apartment in Itaewon 2-Dong, where there were lots of trees. Darned scary! It was on the other side of the access gate which was locked most of the year, so it had lots of time to hang there undisturbed. Of course, I decided to zap it with some cleaner one day, and it fell down. It didn't die. Then I tried some spray wax the next day and it lived. It got right back up again, so the next day I zapped it with some roach killer. It was back again the other day, so I tried mosquito killer. Back again. Finally, I doused it with my girlfriend's spray hair gel, and it didn't come back again.
