| Though I don't know your linguistic background, I do understand something of logic and so would direct you to consdier the possibly that your conclusion is questionable on the grounds that it excludes the possibility of your own linguistic ineptitude. Besides, you're trying to deny a conclusion, the evidence of which is uniquely individual to the claimant. |

Can anyone else claim to have spent a full three months in continuous study? |
No not 3 months, 6 months actually. I've hardly spoken english during that time and no I am no where near fluent. The students you mentioned didn't sound very diligent but my classmates and I are. We study long and hard and after 6 months we have a long, long way to go. Mithridates you don't seem big headed or fishing for compliments which is why I will give you one. You obviously have a gift for languages that few people do. I enjoy reading your posts and admire your knowledge of languages but on this point you are wrong. |
I too studied in a language program (offered by Seoul National) for 6 months and my experience is the same as Mashimaro's. While I've come a long way, I am not not NOT fluent. My main obstacle to fluency is vocabulary. If I knew hanja (i.e. if I was Chinese, Japanese or was fluent in either language) vocab. wouldn't be such a struggle.
BTW, anyone know what happened to the Sogang Univeristy online course??? It was a nice easy way to keep from getting rusty on a daily basis. I miss it a lot. |

Sogang's text books have had a bit of a shake up with a new book released (book 3A) which has seen a change in the numbering system of the books.
Perhaps they are tweaking the website too, who knows. |
