I've been doing this part-time job on Thursdays at this hagwon homeschool place from 1pm straight through to 7:30 for 35,000 an hour. 6.5 hours equates to around 230,000 won. I've been there for 8 months and was thinking about asking for a little raise. The kids love me and the hagwon owner loves me...is asking for 37,500 or 40,000 being selfish? If not, how do I go about it? It is my lowest paying job, but the fact that it's over 6 hrs back to back make it pretty sweet...what's your opinion on asking for a little bump?

take a large sized hammer smack yourself soundly on the head repeat until the insanity goes away.

you want more than almost a mil a month for working one day a week?

You could ask them to round it up to mil even but I think you should count your blessings.

You make almost a million a month for 1 day a week and you want a raise? Is this your only job? or do you have another job for the other 5 days of the week?

I've never seen a part-timer get paid as well as you are now, and I've heard of some good part-time gigs. My school currently has a part-timer and she gets 25.000 per hour. She gets 250.000 a week but that's for 2 hours each morning Monday - Friday.

I say count your blessings and don't rock the boat.

I say yes. Definately ask for a raise. Wait. No. DEMAND one. Then tell me where your school is so I can replace you when they fire you.

Sounds like you have a pretty sweet deal. I'm jealous.

Well, unless something better comes up, I would not recommend it.

The 1 million a month sounds reasonable.

You might be able to get a raise of you can prove that you have increased business.

If you're there legally, by all means, ask. If not, I wouldn't risk pissing them off.
