Is it just me or is the formatting shagged on this page?

I don't think I'd mind Korean "fashion" so much if there were other options available. I dress professionally most of the time, and what's trendy here is generally very juvenile looking to me. It bugs me that there's either nasty ajuma wear or the teenybopper trendy stuff and that's it.

Can it really be called trendy when there's no other option but the trend?

regardless of what some people may say about fashion in Korea, I always look forward to visiting Korea every year because I know I can find a good pair of pants that actually fit me. Sad

So true, my friend, so true.

Leslie, I laughed so hard that beer was coming out of my nose. Unfortunately, your image won't copy on a 'quote' page. And for what it's worth, grasshoppers, there is a difference between Fashion and Style. Fashion is what one puts on; it changes according to whims or seasons. Style comes from within; it's about movement and attitude as much as it is about dress. For men: find a look that works for you, and stick with it. Life is too short to be frittered away on superficiality. Get beyond cool. (Well, maybe only Leonard Cohen can pull that off.)

In the last 2 years I've only spent a month in Canada, so, looking around now at the latest fashions I've been thinking: is this stuff cool in the west these days or is it just a Koren thing. Here are a few specific questions:

1. Is it fashionable for men to wear silk scarves tied in a little knot and flaring out to the side?

2. Is pink back in for men? (Don Johnson and his Miam Vice buddies would be so happy)

3. Are women really dressing like they're in a Molly Ringwald movie?

4. The pony tail to the side. Don't get me wrong, it looks good, but how come everyone is combing their hair like my grade 2 girlfriend?

5. This one really bugs me cuz Korean women usually look so great in their high heels. But, what's up with those nasty, tan-colored, Eskimo style boots? I don't think I've ever been turned off a Korean women but seeing those things attached to them just kills it all.

6. Then of course, the mullet. A constant source of laughs.

i haven't seen the scarves...but then again canadian fashion and american fashion can sometimes be oh-so different.. Rolling Eyes =P

dudes have been wearing pink for a while now. it's not like every guy has a pink shirt, but it's not uncommon to see a dude in one.
i'm guessing 'q.ueer eye for the straight guy' and the 'metrosexual' phenomenon(sp) that's been going on has helped that.

i dunno who molly ringwald is.

the 'side ponytail' comments, i'd have to say that i haven't really seen any of that...

the 'uggs' got famous cuz some actress started wearing them in like...march. they look ok on some ppl, but ugly on most. and i'm guessing that since they became famous in the states through that actress they are disgustingly expensive. a store in my town even has an uggs bag...

what's big here are designers. yes, you guys can all be happy to know that more and more guys are getting 'man purses', especially designer ones. on my campus ipods (especially mini ipods) are the hot thing. for girls a coach bag or LV bag is a MUST Rolling Eyes
the type of sandals that come out in korea over the summer...with the little heel, those types were popular over the summer in the states.

korea and the states seem to mirror each other in various fashion trends. things that i saw in korea last summer that were popular became hot when i got back to the states. same as this year.

if any of you guys noticed, i spotted a LOT of korean chicks carrying around a square-ish looking bag over the summer. not that big plastic thing for stuffing your dongdaemun scores in, but an actual bag. every other girl on my campus had/has that type of bag.

burberry and coach seemed pretty big this summer in korea, and they're pretty big on campus also.

what else? Laughing Rolling Eyes
