if it makes you feel less guilty you saved yourself an hour of very dull small talk featuring such hits as:
Nice to meet you!
What is your name?
Where do you come from?
Are you a student?
Are you married?
How long have you been in Korea?
Do you like Korea?
Do you like soju?
What do you think about Korean women?
Have you ever been to Soraksan?
These conversations can be fine if you're in the right mood, but I wouldn't feel guilty for missing out on one- there'll have been another foreigner along in an hour or so. |

James,
It was seeing Charlie says" Do not talk to strange adjosshis" announcements to many times, that stoppped me honest.
It was the afterwork beer (my darn english routine) whilst reading the newspaper session, so even that conversationj would have been ok I guess. |

"Charlie says" hehe- is it british theme day on here or something?
I know what you mean though, when I first came to Korea I'd be continually freaked up when people would say "Hello!" to me when crossing the road, or say "Today is a cloudy day" when in an elevator. I was convinced they were either pick-pockets, predatory homosexuals, or general ne'er-do-wells. |

James,
If you want to mess with people, when you get into the lift with a lone korean adjoshi wait 30 minutes whilst staring. Then say "hello, do you like korea?" and time how quickly it takes for him to prise the doors apart and escape. |

It's a very slow lift or I could have meant 30 seconds The choice is yours, win a great holiday or go home with dusty bin. |
