How consistently does Osaka process e-2 Visa requests that are in by 2 pm?
What if it is a crazy busy day by chance? Any chance I'd be stuck until Monday in Osaka (major expense?) |

All requests are filled at 4pm.
That should give you 3 hours to get back to the airport. |

I got my e2 on the last friday before school started over a long weekend and had no problems. But I was there at 9 to file my paperwork..
I agree with hojucandy if you are going on friday might as well stay. I went to hiroshima myself on the shinkansen. Well worth a look.

There's a sign on the window at the Consulate that says that drop-off is supposed to be done by 11:30, but I showed up at 1:30 and still had my visa processed and passport returned to me at 4pm. (FYI the next RAPI'T train to the airport was at 4:30, and it takes almost 40minutes.)
You probably will too, however if it's absolutely necessary that you don't get forced into spending the weekend in Osaka, I would save your run for another day. There's too many variables that could go wrong that may force you into spending a night. |

At this point I'd kill for a night in Osaka. I love that place.
Actually where I can these days I try and arrange it so I do have to spend the weekend there on my visa run. Not much point going to another country and being in a city as interesting as Osaka and not enjoying it. Big deal if it costs you a couple of hundred bucks |

My sentiments exactly.
I don't understand the mentality of get in and out as quick as I can for as cheap as I can.
I love going to Osaka and Fukuoka just for the change.
I usually spend a couple of hundred, so what, I have a good time and experience a little more life.
If I were you OP, I'd purposely be late just to be able to stay there the weekend
I set aside 5 million won a year for travelling, a bit much i know , but life is for living and you only live once. |

I tend to agree with you guys, but I also think Japan is an awfully expensive place, and not everyone can afford to spend a weekend there. |

If you do get stuck, Sunday head to the castle. There are some cool free bands that play near the JR station exit. And get some okonomiyaki ... a big cheese and bacon filled omelet. Osaka's Hep 5 is a cool mall to check out. |

and if yu are short of money but need a place to stay - head for shinimamiya station (one stop from namba) and yu will find many cheap and good hotels to stay at. escargot - in a side street opposite the station (away from the city) is only 2000 yen a night for a small but comfortable room. staff are friendly and they have their own bathhouse (free) |
