How does immigration go about proving privates?

I mean since when has having English books and a Korean in your apartment been illegal? Or being in a Korean's apartment with English books?

Especially for people with a Korean spouse, there isn't even a money trail.

one guy that i knew, whom was busted, was dumb enough to do privates in an apartment complex. the guard kept a record of his visits.

i suppose this could be translated to any situation.
if someone knows your schedule or meeting place, they can report you. immi just has to show up at that place and that time to nab you.

another... was not 'caught' doing privates. he was here on a 3month tourist visa....working illegally. when he left the country to renew his visa, immigration did a check on his bank accounts in korea.

the guy couldn't explain why his bank account was growing, considering he didn't have a job...and he was given an exit order.

From what I understand, Immigration doesn't really have to prove anything. When it comes to foreigners' rights here, there's not much in the way of due process. All the immigration guys have to do is say, "We're convinced that this guy is doing privates," and that's it, you're guilty. No proof necessary.

ok i know this has probably been covered before but can immigration nab you for teaching privates if you're not accepting money for it? like teaching english in exchange for korean lessons for example.

As long as there's no money involved, it shouldn't be a problem.

They don't require proof, the only need that it's more likely than not to be true and even that's above what they need to issue an exit order. People being deported because the angry (ex)girlfriend made a phone call happens on a somewhat regular basis.

But unlike Singapore, they generally don't freeze your bank account when they kick you to the curb.
