OR, failing a successful Aussie get together in Korea, get your sorry arses down to southern Thailand for the opening of my pie (and, admittedly, burger) shop in Songkhla on Friday, December 10, - a public holiday here in the Land of Smiles - where we will have VB stubbies for sale.
Oh yeah! |

Sweet. Far southern Thailand rocks. Seems like the Isthmus of Kra or whatever it's called acts as a babo filter. Narrithwat etc.....very nice area. |

ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! The pain of speaking of what cannot be had...
Stupid embassy workers. Always get all the stuff. They've probably got tons of Vegemite stored out the back. Probably bought with tax payer money. Our money.
I think we should walk en-mass. Organise Australians in every country to go to the Embassy and demand meat pies, Crown Lager and Vegemite. |

Although I just got here, I would be up for watching footy (even would watch the AFL)eating some pies and drinking Aussie beer.
I am homesick after 1 week..... |

| I'm a proud kiwi, but I just don't get the pie thing. Pies are desperation food, for when you're really pissed and get get anything else to fill you up. Are you aware of the quality of meat that goes into pies? |

Yeah the meat...
I used to work in a place that slaughtered and made chicken for McDonalds and KFC.
You wanna know where the nuggets come from.
After you hang the chickens so they get their throat cut they go through and electrified solution before they hit the knife so that they get zombied out.
Anyhow... Sometimes they have to stop the line and the chickens get stuck there. Either way the meat turns this really funny white colour. When it comes through the rest of the process you cut it up and make it into Chicken McNuggets. |

Well, when I said "Are you aware that pies contain crappy meat?" I was being what we call "rhetorical" ... you're not too bright, but I like you anyway ...
Point is, if you know what's in them, why do you all go so nuts for pies. Isn't there something more representative of our countries that is good to eat?
When I think of food from home I think of roast lamb ... |
