I noticed that, too. Weird title.

Another class pet peeve...

The student who jumps at the chance to "translate" every Korean name given during class into "English."

Student: My favorite actress is Moon So-ri.

Student 2: So-Ri Moon!

Me: Thank you... but I heard it the first time.

For the most part these don't bother me too much because I have such a hard time with Korean that I try to remember they're doing a lot better in English than I probably ever will in their language. However, I have one older adult student who ALWAYS uses the phrases "I think so" and "one another" and uses them wrong--"It is a good idea I think so", "Perhaps we should one another talking"...the funny thing is even the other Koreans in the class say this drives them crazy because she literally uses one or the other of these phrases in EVERY sentence. Smile

But the one that takes the cake is "Teacher, game!" grrrr...

i taught my bar owner that you shouldnt say "what do you want?" when im at the bar, but to say "what would you like?". also had to say to him that no i am not lovely, but im nice. he was a little embarassed when i told him he sounded gay Embarassed but the best phrase i taught was "im on fire and i love taking your money!" when we play pool for cash.

Here's another interesting one. In Korea, evidently, the Pauly Shore movie "Jury Duty" is called, Ʈ ɿ. Stripper Jury.

Dear God...

Stripper Jury. I saw another one a few days ago... What was it called? The movie in English was "Digging to China." I read the Korean name and thought that was weird. For the life of me I can't remember though. Next time I go to the shop, I will check.
