I don't think your state of mind has anything to do with French.

Si on veut parler en francais, je viendrais, mais je n'ai pas pratique (sorry, I don't know how to do accents on this computer) depuis longtemps et alors je ne peux pas le parler aussi bien que j'aimerais... (yeah, okay, I totally forget which verb tense I should be using there)... anyway, if you can tolerate a few grammatical nightmares of sentences, I too would be interested in attending any sort of French-speaking gathering.

Alright..the revival of this thread is the ultimate omen for me. Yesterday I was thinking to myself that I really need to get my french up to par, and that I really should find a language partner to practice with. The fact that this thread has been revived is the hammer on the nail.

If anyone would like a language partner once or even twice a week, and lives in the Seoul area, I'm available, just drop me a message. I'm an intermediate speaker, have lots of free time, and I'm a bit shy and very rusty about my skills at the moment. I would love to have a partner or small group of people who are about the same skill level as me to practice french in a casual setting with. Go for coffee or beer, shoot some pool, visit the park, whatever..

Razz Razz

as the man who started this thread, i'd be into speaking french... only thing is, i think it'd be more fun with someone whose french is at the 'rusty-intermediate' level like me.

too many people on here seem like french-language-ninjas and i think it'd be more fun to wade through ignorance with someone.

That's kind of a fun image-- the French language ninja, nimbly leaping out of the shadows to conjugate the hell out of you. Most of the Francophones I know are very kind about the fact that I'm an Anglo and I'm trying, but I'm not perfect.

I don't think the purists would bother hanging out with non-amphibian pond scum such as ourselves. No, wait, what does that make me? I'm a frog, yet I am not French. Quel horreur!
