I had a Grade 2 student ask me this after class today and it made me laugh.
It was cute, but the more I thought about it, the more wondered, what kind of stuff are they teaching in the churches over here?
Not that what she said was bad or anything, but I feel that it's just a strange question to be comming from a girl of her age.
Oh well, kids say the darndest things! |

I'm always shocked when adults ask it.
I've discovered the most popular questions for me are:
Are you american?
Are you a teacher?
How old are you?
Do you believe in Jesus?
How tall are you?
usually asked in that order. I've taken to making up interesting tales to stave off boredom there are lots of random people out there who think strange things of me. |

Really? You must be young not to be asked "are you married?" "Why not?"
I remember a 10 year old student who used to wear a t-shirt that said "What would Jesus do?" and it had nothing but a picture of a giraffe on it. No idea what the intention was there. |

yeah I'm a bit on the young side.....usually after finding out my age (22) I get some bemused looks and comments about how old they are. Though I have been asked if I am married or if I have kids, they just aren't the favorites.
and maybe the shirt is implying Jesus would do the giraffe .....i kid folks i kid we all know giraffes don't go to heaven. |

"Do you love Jesus"?
Well, technically we are just seeing eachother. I mean, he's great and all but I don't know if I am ready to be tied down yet. He's got a good job, what with being the savoir and all but where will he be in 10 years? Is that a stable carreer? If he could get on with Samsung then maybe.... Does he love me? Did he say something? |

To the subway evangelist who asked me that:
"No.
That's Bushee's church, and I don't want to be in it."

Or or how about, 'God bless you'. WTF where's that coming from? And who are you some sort of middleman, intermediary between heaven and earth who can bestow blessings. Point out to God, pray, whom he ought to bless? Yeah, I know, an emotionally charged sentence with the words god, heaven, blessings are a turn off, right? Weird waters, religion.
Anyway, 'god bless you'. |

You should have said "Who is Jesus? Is that your uncle's brother" or something along those lines. |

I usually dont love people who have been buried under ground for 2,000 years...kind of like trying to love your ex-girlfriend who makes it her profession to hate you and make you feel miserable by inviting you to the bar to meet her friends and then going home with some other guy. |
