Anyone else using Mozilla Forfox browser. The final 1.0 version is out and man is it lightening fast. I can't believe how quick pages load with this.

Man, I have to use IE to enter my attendance b/c the uni's intranet isn't configured for Firefox. 3 mins of loading hell in an otherwise racing internet existence.
Thank you Mozilla! |

That's the problem with running Mozilla in Korea... most of the local websites are tricked out for IE. I would love to ditch IE and use Firefox exclusively, but I can't.

| Firefox is essentially Netscape. I've been using it for several months, and I'm satisfied. Opera is another good browser. True, Korean websites aren't programmed for Firefox (or anything else but Explorer), which is why I keep Explorer as a backup, eventhough I'd prefer to delete it completely from my computer. |

| I spent awhile adjusting the settings in Firefox so it has bigger and clearer fonts in the browser menus. Had to add code to the open source. |

It's easy to set font size. Click on View, then Text Size. A cool thing about Firefox is that you can easily download themes to completely change its look.

| Those only change the text of the actual pages your viewing. I was referring to the URL bar, menus and sub-menus which were too small for me. |

If you removed it, how would you access windows update? |

| I've been using mozilla for a couple years and keep IE only for the really tricky stuff, like Microsoft's update page, or web developers who only look for "IE 5.0+" and do a redirect if it doesn't recognize your browser. I downloaded Firefox last night and it's a fine tweek of Mozilla. It's wonderful what happens when there's some competition again for control of your desktop. |

Through the Windows Update Service (talking about XP here).
I just deleted the IE shortcut from my girlfriend's desktop (she uses Windows, I have a mac) and replaced the Firefox icon with the IE icon. I haven't heard her complain yet |

I use Mozzilla and once in a while I get a web site that does not want to cooperate. For example a bank site would not show and function buttons. But I download a nice little prog intergrated with Mozilla and it tricked the site into working.
I had to reinstall IE becuase my scanner needed it and MSN would aloways want IE.
Sorry can not find the link. I will try and post it later.

I tried mozilla after reading that it was mucho better than IE. No big surprise though since most Microsoft products suck anyway.
But, the big bad part was when I uninstalled Mozilla (don't ask why I did) it also removed virtually everything from my hard drive -- pics, videos programmes etc!!!
So never again just on principle |

I'm trying out the newest Firefox now, and there is some improvement in functionality on Korean web pages, and fonts on my machine are now better (English OS wasn't showing clear Korean characters in FF before, but now OK).
Still having various java errors pop up on sites like www.enuri.com when I search for stuff. Not sure exactly what I'm missing, as it only tells me there is some sort of error.
Oh, and worse... I can't get the Video window to play Windows Media on www.foxnews.com. It says "No Plugin Available."
Where do I find one? |
