I keep thinking of all these things and places I want to show my girlfriend back in the states.
1. With all this talk about Korea is so beautiful in the fall, and granted it really is, I would like to show my girlfriend the New England states in the fall. Or basically a ride in the country.
2. Thanksgiving dinner at my grandfather's house
3. Christmas lights on homes.
4. Beautiful parks with practically no people in them
5. Real deli shops (she loves subway sandwhiches)
6. a real blizzard, and a morning after a night of snowfall with all the snow covered trees in our yard.
Just a few things...how about you guys?

My girlfriend lived with my family for 8 months last year while she studied ESL at the University of Washington.
I was proud to take her to:
Las Vegas
LA
The Grand Canyon
Leavenworth, WA.
Atlantic Street Pizza (best pizza in Seattle)
the Oregon coastline
The Space Needle
Dick's Burger (best burgers in Seattle)
It's a lot of fun playing tour guide in America... there is just so much to see and do.

1. Real, actually beautiful countryside.
2. Quiet people.
3. Streets with barely any, if none at all, litter and spit on them.
4. Wastepaper baskets at every corner.
5. Drivers signalling when they turn.
6. Police driving without their red and blue lights on.
7. Restaurants without people standing outside, clapping their hands. People DO actually go in!!!
8. Children playing in the park after school, enjoying their childhood, and not studying their youth away.
9. No smoking signs that are actually obeyed.
10. Crowds of people of different race, with little to no pointing and giggling. |

That's a good one, IM. The sheer diversity of the place...

None of those in Korea?
I know for a fact a few posters on here have been beaten up by a bunch of Koreans. Is that not also a race crime? |

It very well could have been. I was just saying if you want to show Koreans some utopia of multi-racial harmony in the west, you're dreaming. |

I'm not sure what I want to show my girlfriend....
Sure we have wide streets but the people now in America really disturb me. It's really changed a lot since 911.
The last time I went back to my hometown I visited my small town post office. Everyone there knows me. When I was a kid I sent a postcard from camp that just had the city and the name "MOM." Sure enough the post card arrived.
When our big pine tree was felled by a storm the post man came around to get it (free fire wood for him too).
As I said, the last time I visited my hometown I went to the post office to mail a letter. I didn't have the correct amount so I needed to get money from the bank. Could they hold my package for awhile? Sure. No problem.
Well, I went to one bank. No luck, but the next bank a block away could help me out. When I came back everyone was figity and nervous. "I though you fled!" said the female worker. They really thought I was a terrorist.
What's happened to little old America we used to know and love?!?! |

Depends where you take them. Don't go to wyoming.
I was going to post a few thing (like chinese-american food, 32 ounce steaks for 7 dollars), but the OP got most of them. But look how a post that was supposed to be positive things about home turned into negative things about Korea. You people are obsessed. |
