It just does not occur to kids to shut the door. Just as it does not occur to them that there is anything wrong with throwing candy wrappers out of fourth story windows.
It also doesn't occur to hagwon bathroom builders to include hot water.
In a similar manner it doesn't occur to the director that his smoking in the stairwell stinks up the entine floor.

I can say the same about the students at my uni. Just substitute 'candy wrappers' with cigarette butts.

Yeah, I think that it is definitely a Korean thing. I mean, it has occurred at all the places that I've worked here. It could be freezing cold outside and the kids all bundled in heavy jackets and, as sure as a sunset, they open all the windows and let all that cold air jet back in and therefore make everything even colder and less comfortable. Of course, I'm used to the illogical now, so it really doesn't bother me. Surprised

It's twelve degrees in my office right now. I'm sure glad we closed all the curtains to protect us from that dangerous solar radiation.
