Parents Kill Own Children Amid Economic Hardship
Human rights abuse has been on the rise amid the prolonged economic slowdown. Some parents suffering from destitution have turned to the last resort to kill their own children before ending their own lives.

People are animals..not that different to many species of gull, which sometimes kill their own young, and even eat them.

Whenever I say "gull", think, Koreans.

"During times of drought when food is scarce, the less successful breeding pairs in the colony often abandon the attempt to raise young. Instead they may often kill their nestlings or those from nearby nests, and then eat them to nourish themselves.
Another extreme circumstance to prompt this behavior in the colony is when the population becomes too overcrowded.. in which time some family groups may kill their own young or travel in search of better living conditions".

As a naturalist, the more I understand about the natural world and animal behavior, the more I see purpose behind seemingly strange human behavior..even if it is only a distant, remnant characteristic..

Very deep, except that they aren't killing their children for food.

They killed their children due to pressures arisng from poverty, a lack of resources, an inability to provide for them.
The only difference is that gulls do not suffer from loss of face.

I once knew a gull that both died from fan death and lost his face.

Both things happened just after he stuck his head into an electric fan that was on high speed.

They are talking about a peak of 17 children. This is hardly a mass killing spree. Rolling Eyes

And besides....

Killing a baby because it is suffering from starvation is a much bigger crime than because you want to hump your boyfriend's leg like that american chick...
