With Ryst Helmut back home, isn't the Cheonan set pretty much me (not really anymore though) and HotelCheonan? Not much of a set...

If I had an urge to go to this get together...is it in Seoul or area? How would I get there coming from Busan? Suggestions of good places to stay in the area? Sorry I am new here but think this sounds like fun, hence the questions.

It hasn't changed my opinion of the board, but I do find that people are always a lot nicer in person than online ... myself included

No.

If people think you are not nice on the board, then you have been misunderstood.

Girl, get your attitude on and make friends with your savage side. Drunken idiots can be put out of commission in under 10 seconds in all kinds of ways if they're really threatening you. Otherwise, they're just being annoying.
Learn the difference and don't let fear run your life. A wolf can smell a weak animal a mile away.
Sorry, but I really dislike this "I'm helpless" thing too many women buy into.

Wow. Judgement from a girl too!!! Nice.

Where did you get the "I'm helpless" idea from?????? Do you know me? Because I don't know you, and I'm not going to about to start making jump decisions about who you are or what your attitude is.

You're wrong if you think that bad things can't happen to tough girls. They can and they do. You're also wrong if you think that I can't be tough when the situation warrants it. I wrestled an arsehole out of my apartment two years ago -- who was intent on doing sexual harm to me. I'm freakin' tough when the situation warrants it, but at this stage in my life I've learned that I don't want to put myself into situations where this kind of toughness is necessary.

Truthfully, walking around late at night by yourself in a area of any city that is heavily populated with transients is dangerous for men or women.

As for Sparx and Mishlert, I'm going to assume that the two of you are perfect gentlemen. The thing is, I know myself. When it comes right down to it, I'm not going to break up your good time to get an escort to a taxi.

Anyway, I'm somewhat shocked by the lack of understanding. Whatever. Majority rules in the decision of where the event should be, and I can choose to go or not to go when that decision is made.

YOu misread-canuckistan is a dude, dude

That's funny, Chillin' Villain -- I was actually going to ask the married men how many of them would be happy with their wife walking alone in Itaewon on a Saturday evening!

My reaction would be: "Uh why you wasting your time in Itaewon when Bucheon is the place to be?"

Seriously though, I'd roll my eyes if she told me she wasn't going to some social gathering there because she feared for her safety- no offense.

Everyone seems to be fairly familiar with each other on the board. Are new people welcome? I would be coming from outside Seoul...I'm familiar with Itaewon but would need good detail directions for any other area. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone.

Are you bored or else why are you starting this up again? The gathering isn't in Itaewon anyway.

BTW, your last sentence doesn't offend me -- but it does illustrate how you are different from my husband.

Did a search, but couldn't find one . . .

There was a thread with pics on it, but Osangirl made some derogatory comments about the people who attended. The thread eventually derailed after that and the mods eventually pulled the whole thing. You can read up on a thread she started about it, over on Expats.

Too bad. I remember you and C saying a lot of nice stuff about her that night and that you guys were looking forward to going down to see her again.

I know that people often make a big deal about her and the low self-esteem, blah-blah, and I don't know her, but I do kinda feel bad for her, after this. Sad
