You didn't list foreign schools!!

That's where it's at folks. A few years here and I'll have the student loans paid off and valuable experience that'll get me a job just about anywhere I want to go.

Cool Cool

Being a realist, I would like to move out of teaching in the next few years, yet stay in Korea. Have been teaching in Korea for a long time and I don't think I can do it very much longer. I give myself 3 years maxium as working as a teacher, (but that is what I say..... Confused ).

Um...then what? Smile

I wouldn't mind being an 'imbedded' interpreter in a company somewhere. The worst kind of interpreter to be (in my opinion) is the on-call kind, that has to brush up on whatever subject is going to come up next a few days before the event and doesn't know what to expect. Sometimes they expect you to be a human calculator as well.

So the product in question was valued at 950 baht...
Baht?!?! How many won to a baht?!?!?
Come on, why aren't you interpreting for me?

I might like it but I'd be careful about just accepting anything willy-nilly.

lol at "willy nilly". that is such a good term to sum up korea. I think any job here by law demands a good portion of willy-nillism Laughing

Just an aside on interpretation it was interesting to read an interview with the recently passed guy who did interpretation during the armistace talks during the korean war. Now that must have a been a pressure packed job! say the wrong word here or there and the repercussions could have been huge I'd imagine. The interview was in Richard Hariss' latest book. The interviewee was from the family that founded Yonsei univ. name escapes me.[/b]

seriously though, what i'd like to do in Korea really isn't that different than in the states. yes, it involves further study, not language oriented though and certainly not for (as you put it) a long time.
