If you format C:, you will lose all of your data. As far as using D:, just store your files there instead of C:.
I don't really know what you are asking.....why is C: near capacity? What are you doing with the space? Is it files or programs?
Does D: show up in "My Computer"? If so, then when you save files, save them there...if you install more software, intall it on D:. |

format d into a 20/40 partition. use the 20gb as your new c.. you may have to check the configiration of your jumpers cuz the d drive is probably set as a slave and c is probably set as a primary..
or you could leave it be as demo suggests and just use d for more storage, but, i'm betting c drive has issues if it is near full 60 gb
more information i'll send a pm |

If you use a P2P program, and your files for sharing are stored on C, just cut & paste them to D.
I imagine this will free up a lot of room; defrag after it is all said & done (on both drives).

thanks
I am using it for p2p so it is mostly feature films, music. How do I 20/40 split my C drive? I'll try the drag and drop approach too... |

I can't think of any reason why you'd need to partition your D drive if you've just got a load of p2p stuff. Running programs from a slave drive isn't a good idea, but there's no reason why you can't just take 40 gigs of porn, and cut'n' paste it to the D: drive, jobs a good 'un! |

Good idea! I will move 40 gigs of porn to my D drive which will free up around 40 gigs of porn storage space, aka "pornage space", on C. Incidently this porn is being used for research puposes only and no animals were harmed during its production. |

20GB for the OS partition is a waste of space. 10GB has always served me well, even when I was a software junkie. Relocate "My Documents" to the larger partition as well (right click, "Properties", "Location")....that is, if you use it for general storage of certain things. It does tend to grow quickly... |
