So the story goes like this.
2 weeks ago i sent 6 million home to nz, which equaled 7777.00. well the thing was, my bank acc had been closed. no problem, got the old lady to open a new one. no problem. went down to the bank to re-send it. Now theoritically i should have been sending home 6 million won again, right? this is where the problem lies. the bank claims, that no, im sending back 7777.00 nzd. now im being short changed around 150,000 won! now just because the exchange rate changed, does this mean, that im now sending back the original amount of nzd or the original amount of won? if anyone knows the answer please oblige me, or just tell me to suck it up. im pissed right now as i believe i am in the right, and the bank should go f itself! my wee rant for the day. cheers for listening (reading) |

Umm, I think it's your fault. You agreed to a certain exchange rate, but failed to provide them with a valid number. Now you want the improved exchange rate? Or am I wrong? |

well after contacting the bank, apperently i am wrong. they actually did send it, and it made it to nz, then the nz bank sent it back. so yes i guess i was. it was the fact that when i enquired about the amount on the sheet, she either didnt have the english to explain or it was going to be too confusing for her. anyway, istill wouldnt have minded the extra 300 bucks! i shouldve waited! the question i wanted answered was weather the wire transfer had actually reached nz shores, or weather they checked the acc was valid first and didnt send it. either way, i was screwed by my own timing. |
