| Again, my issue is not with what you highlighted in red -- I disagree with your assertion that gender-selection abortions occur only after a married couple has had one or two female children. I maintain that a certain percentage of gender-selection abortions occur in a couple's first pregnancy, when it is revealed that the foetus is female. |

That is ridiculous.
Very very very few Korean families have three children.
Even fewer have no sons. Many families only have one child, this is almost always a son. |
And if they have several daughters and one son, the son is often the youngest child. |

Looks like most gender selections don't affect the firstborn: excellent link comparing child sex ratios of S.Korea, Singapore and China.
Source: Population planning unit, Ministry of Health.(Singapore).
"(S.Korea)-A look at the sex ratio by birth parities reveals that the ratio is normal for the first born, but abnormally high for third, fourth and higher order births: higher even than that for China".
