Please let this be the thread where people like me can gather and discuss what the hell is worth getting excited over when you walk into an LG25/Buy The Way/7-11/Family Mart, at 3 am, looking to get something to eat.

I've been through my Jin Ramen phase, where I'd go buy a coke and pack of jin ramen, and eat it right out of the bag. Yum!

Then, I went through my chocolate-covered almond phase.

Whenever I have a hankering for chocolate, I always do a glance at the chocolate section, and for a moment, as my eyes scan, I have this feeling of hope that somebody decided to market something other than Kit Kat, Mr.Big, or a variation of Snickers, to the Korean market.

The sandwiches (if you can call them that), have way too much mystery vegetables than I care for.

The rows chock full of shrimp chips or ultra sweet ass-chips are not scoring any points with me. Save for the faux Doritos, which has graced my drunken lips at 4am, more than a few times.

I almost puked up the new burrito-thing that they have mixed in with the sandwiches. The pizza pockets are atrocious. I haven't tried much microwave stuff out of the freezer.

At this point for me, there isn't anything remotely satisfying as a late night snack.

Somebody please tell me about your convenience store hidden gems, before I go try to persuade the Red Door lady in Itaewon to stay open all night, just in the off-chance that I walk by.

I always do the sandwich thing when I'm on the drink.

Last night I bought a sandwich from Family Mart which was titled big sandwich mystery surprise. Was pretty good with some pasta crap and a bit of meat. Good value.

A good thing to get is those little sausages that have cheese in the middle. You can get a bag of them for about 3000 won. get them to warm them up in the microwave for about 30 seconds and bingo, sausage and cheese.

Also now winter is here I love the Jim Bbang that they have in the carosul clear display things. 500 won for this pizza mystery or get the vegie one. I think I'll get one now.

Also Hottuk is good but you can only get that from the street vendor. Another winter food that tastes damn good.

Those pizza pocket things, properly toasted, are heaven. The triangle tuna kimbap things are quite good as well, not to mention the ham and cheese, tuna and fishcas sandwiches.

The best of the late-night marts, for both variety and quality, is LG25, bar none. Family Mart, Buy the Way and anything else pale in comparison.

Yeah, those little sausage things are good and you can just cook them in your rice cooker if you're feeling lazy.
Those burritos are gross.
If I'm really lazy but still want a healthy snack I buy kim, cheese and a thing of microwavable rice if I don't have any in the cooker. Then I take a bit of rice, put it on a square of kim, put cheese on it and eat that with kimchi on the side.
Sometimes I buy Tomato or carrot juice if what I'm eating is unhealthy but sadly it's no substitute for V8.
I always buy yogurt.
If I'm in 7-11 and with a girl I can also buy a classy 3500 won cute little bottle of wine. Ooh, classy
If you have a place you go to often you can also tell them what kind of 3kak kimbap you want if they don't have it. I like the kind with tonkatsu.
Besides that I don't really know. I hate being hungry with nothing but convenience store selection at night. Good thread though.

Also, you're not leaving Korea soon are you? No? Good, because I'm not back until January.

best thing is the microwaveable jjang jjang myeong- lush as you like- proper noodles, and little chunks of meat in the black bean sauce.

Maybe I just suck, but I get one of those little tiny packs of cookies and some milk if I'm by my house. If not, I just stick with triangle kimbap.

Hey a little of the topic, but what about after a night in Itaewon and then you head over to the famous egg-and-cheese sandwich lady - she must pump out a few huindred on Saturday and Sunday nights...yummy...

Yeah, man! I need some soda, an ice cream sandwich, a box of crackers, some rubber gloves, Mentos, a water pistol, 8 litres of milk, some kimchi, processed cheese, four cans of tuna, baked beans, a large pizza, and Doritos.

Oh yeah, and some cleaning products. Lots of cleaning products.

Man, the convenience stores in Japan had me drooling... Selection, selection!

As far as here goes, Buy the Way and 7-11 sometimes have these little things called "Tetra Pizza" by the pizza pockets.... They SORTA remind of those McCain or Pillsbury frozen pizzas you'd buy at home... Not the gourmet ones, just the simple bachelor-style ones.... Anyways, there aren't any dumb ingredients like corn or peas on 'em, and they are usually quite satisfying for the late night hunger pangs.... Checka check 'em out!

My microwavable lgmart/family mart/buy the way special is from the freezer.......... walk to the freezer............slowly. Open the door. Inside the freezer are these containers of rice, there is shrimp, chicken or beef.

The beef one. Oh my god.... add a lil soy sauce... voila. Heaven.
