Look up the two parts in a Korean-English Dictionary.
 (e): anxiety; worry; trouble.
 (feel): a head; a roll of cloth; finished.

If you use the Hanja, then peppergirl is correct. However, if you strictly focus on the Hangeul, then you will find what I found. It seems Korean-English dictionaries show the Korean (Hangeul), not necessarily the Hanja characters.
1.  --->  ---> love; affection; attachment; passion

2.  ---> ݵ ---> certainly; surely; necessarily; inevitably

Hanja, or 'Sino-Korean characters', means the Chinese characters used in Korea. For more on Hanja, see the following: learnkorean.com -- link: http://www.learnkorean.com/whanja/hclassindex.asp

Anyway, look up the Korean characters (Hangeul).

Koreans use their own unique alphabet called Hangeul. It is considered to be one of the most efficient alphabets in the world and has garnered unanimous praise from language experts for its scientific design and excellence. Throughout history, Hangeul has been at the root of the Korean culture, helping to preserve its national identity and independence.

Is this why RR usually just posts links rather than original content? Rather than 'I made a mistake" RR writes:

Does this show RR's true understanding of Korea through, what is in my opinion, a statement bordering on self protectionism? Strange for someone who I thought had some command of linguistic pragmatism to write this:

Quote:

I can respect someone who doesn't feign naivety to hide a mistake. No one in this world is above an error. Sometimes, but not always, to be gracious wins more points than to be indignant. I think this is one of those times.

In one of my classrooms, there is a poster with various veggies on it. When the kids start talking about the peppers in Korean, I yell out, "Byeon TAE!" because it embarasses them.

Group to Select Another Korean Name for Condom
The recently selected Korean name for condom is being replaced with a new one as some people with the same name strongly oppose its use, the Korean Anti-AIDS Federation said Monday.

"We've decided to withdraw our plan to launch an AIDS prevention campaign using the Korean name for condom, "aepil," since people of the same name protested over phone or the Internet," said Kim Hoon-soo, public relations director of the federation. "We later found there are around 10 people with the same name across the country," he said. "We will ask the public for another Korean name for condom next year, which we hope won't give offend anyone," Kim said.

I'm sure we're all aware that Korean words are made up of syllables which have numerous meanings due to differeing hanja. The same is true for Korean names, of course...so I think it will be very hard not to create a new word for condom that couldn't also potentially be someone's name...especially if they're worrying about just ten people having the name...Maybe a foreign word is easier, given that it might be less likely to be like a Korean name...good luck, I say...

As it happens, one article on the issue I read said that that was exactly what had happened -- there were about ten people in the country with that name and they were pissed.

Sounds funny, but there was a Cialis family that sued last year.
