Airdrawndagger wasn't groundbreaking?????????? Wow. First person that I've ever heard that didn't recognize that album as being some of his best work.
Sasha was great. Packed house, but not so packed that you couldn't move or dance. I wish I would've toned down on the Long Islands at Route 66, otherwise I would have remembered a lot more. I was gunned.
It was great meeting Chillin Villain and his girlfriend at 66, and I bumped into part of my old Daegu crew there as well and we ended up rolling together. |

Yeah, I'm regretting missing the show, but co-ordinating 6 people to be in the same place at the same time didn't turn out so well.... It was decent hanging out at 66, though.... That "Kiss" party at MWG turned out to be a fun enough substitute as well- appreciation for the free little tequila shots!
My big plus of the evening- discovering my official venue for New Year's Eve. There's going to be a freakin' HUGE party in a hall at COEX with Pete Tong headlining.... Some Japanese guy- Shinichi Osawa, too (I don't know too many of these guys, so...). Anyways, Tong kicks it hard in "Essential Mix" etc, so I'm gonna shell out the 60 large that this party's gonna cost... Oh yeah, and apparently it's s'posed to draw about 10,000 people... Crowds suck sometimes, but I'm thinking this could be decent. |

Pete Tong? Well, I suppose I'm going to COEX for new years.
PS., If you guys ever come across it, look to download the Essential Mix of Sasha and Pete Tong at Bondi Beach 2000 New Years Eve. Kicks some serious *beep*-ing ass. |

Why are all these good DJs flooding in NOW!!!!!!
When i can't go and the budget is tight. Its driving me mad.
By the way...the eye, no hard feeling. I just like good times, doesn't have to be groundbreaking, just good beats. |

Music will be out of it again, mark my words, things go in cycles. Goa trance was out of it in 92, Drum n Bass was out of it in 95, House was out of it in 96, Techno was out of it in 97, Dub and Jungle has always been out of it ...
I frequent a website where I get to hear tracks from unsigned Euro dudes who are just about to break through, all done in a computer, and there is definitely still innovative stuff going on. Not all the innovative electronica is for the floor either. But there is some storming stuff out there. It's a matter of these artists getting it on CD which is a biotch in this ultra competitive music market ... |
