Why would you ever give access to your email to a girlfriend? The only reason they want to get into your email account is to spy on you. What you should do is just make up a fake email account or just tell her that you're not giving it to her. Only guys who are whipped would give out access to their email. Its the same thing as giving the password to your voicemail so they can check the messages you've received from maybe some other females.

Sounds like a good job, TECO. I might look into Taiwan again after I finish the MA in 2006.

that's not what happened.

the girl opened a new account similar in name to the university. she wrote a letter to the boyfriend, acting as the university, telling him the offer was rescinded.

It would be easy to gain access to another person's email account. If the person has their MSN messenger sign in automatically then another person could gain access that way or just open up Outlook Express and do it that way.

Hi,

No, I didn't tell her my password.

First, my notebook at home automatically is set to log me into my e-mail account.

Second, she had used my computer before and new her way around on it.

At any rate, even if I had told her my e-mail for any reason it was a pretty stupid thing for her to do.

To think, I could have been living in Jeonju right now!

I would have never gone to school in Australia!

She actually directly changed the course of a person's life - strange, isn't it.

Just out of curiosity, why is your location "JAPAN"?

Zed,

Sorry, I was in Japan and I've not changed it and never get around to doing it.

Zed, to answer your questions:

I think that the university teaching is a lot different than in Korea or even Japan.

The government controls who the universities hire to a certain extent and grant all universiy teachers teaching licenses.

There are also no "Kids" classes at universities.

Moreover, there are no "Compulsory" Summer or Winter camps.

I'm lincensed as a "Lecturer" and the Miinistry of Higher Education stipulates that a "Lecturer" cannot teach for more than 10 hours per week (excluding office hours).

I cannot teach more than 4 hours over time at my school - even if the university wants me to, it's illegal, and so they never ask us to.

Assistant Professors and up work even fewer hours - 7 or 8.

Unlike Korea and Japan, the government regulates the hiring of university teachers on Taiwan.

That girl is psychotic. I would get out, like, right now. If she has no problem doing something like that and keeping quiet about it for all this time, what lies in store for you if you stay with her? Or, God forbid, what will she do if you break up with her? Shocked Boil your bunny?

LOL!!

I sure hope not.

This has been definitely been a first for me, in terms of being in a situation like this.

We talked and she undetstood that what she did was wrong.

What if moving to Jeonju would have saved my life in some way - she altered not only the course of my career but my life!

So, it's definitely a bit trippy for me when I actually think about what happend.

And to find out exactly a year later what she did only adds to the freaky nature of the whole thing.

other than that she seems as 'normal' as your average Asian girl can be.

This time I completely agree with pepermint. This is a pathological woman and it seems highly likely that other such destructive behavior will occur in the future. I don't think she is sorry that she did it, but only that she got caught.

Of course, you should do what you feel is the right thing. Reformed behavior is always a possibility.
