Hello everyone,
I'm a pretty recent (6 weeks or so now) arrival here in Korea. I'm living in Jinhae City. I think the thing I miss most about home is having friends around that wouldn't mind getting a few drinks almost any night. I know that I can find other foreigners in the bigger cities around me but I haven't figured out the mass transportation system here and that's not much help on a Wednesday night anyways. Haha.

So is anyone on here from around my way? I think I'm reasonably nice and not so ugly that you'd be embarrassed to be seen with me. Wink

Yes there is. But I'm a straight male and not exactly military friendly. I'll probably meet some military foreigners here, but I'd rather meet civilian foreigners.

Jin-hae's community is still, I believe , a little limited.

Most people opt to either head over to Ch'ang-won, Ma-san, or bu-san for foreigner-type activities; Ch'angwon may be the closest & easiest of the 3. People there have always been community-minded, and being 'from Jin-hae' is NOT a strike against you.

Bus is easy, but really, a taxi is NOT expensive, and a pretty drive, either through the mountains, or the tunnel pass.

Regards,

Glen

Lots of people come on over from Jinhae to Changwon for a drink.

here is the link to the best bar in town
http://www.obriens-bar.com/

Good times to be had there.

if you roll on up on a Friday night there will be a lot of people there of all natioalities and colors and jobs.

Catch the bus in, very easy to do but going back the taxi will cost about 20 000 won as Jinhae is out of Changwons taxi district but it is worth it for a drink.

Looking through the photo pages there, I see a fair number of people I still know (Jason, Franny, Shady, etc.). As well as one girl I'd really like to get to know! Grrrow - need to get back down there for a visit at some point.

Hey, is that a picture of Iain at Halloween? In the govt heavy/Matrix-type outfit?

Yes.

Enough said though.......I'm trying to remain anonymous on here to my fellow Changwonians. If some of them knew how much I posted on here I would never hear the end of it. Very Happy
