Oh, just thought of another good comic.

It's a little perverted which just makes it easier to follow and pay attention. |
Is it about Apgujeong hotties? |

| There's a place called Stoo (wonderful name, I know), stoo.com or stoo.co.kr or something like that that carries it. It's also in one of the sports papers, or maybe one of the others. I never buy those papers so I'm not sure, but I think it would be worth it. |

| I was reading Slam Dunk for a while way back when... Super easy, usually, and full of good casual stuff... I haven't read it for a long time now, though.... Maybe I should check out that Apkujeong Arirang one... What's the deal with it? |

Mithridates-
You've given me so much good advice about Korean language learning that I feel like I should meet you. I'll get over to Korea one of these days. And when I am world-famous I'll mention you and eslcafe (yeah, a world famous Korean history/anthro professor...haha).
Anyway, I've decided to take your frequently given advice and buy the Jaurim CDs on yesasia. I can't find no. 1, and 2.5 is out of stock, but that leaves 3 and 4 (and is "Lover" no. 2?). Is their new album, no. 5, any good? Or just too happy? If it's good, I'll buy that one, too.
Thanks for all the advice!

Thanks. ^^
What about #2? #3, Woonderland is really good but the lyrics are a bit harder than #2 which is the first one I'd recommend, though you wouldn't go wrong with the other one. The problem is the font is tiny and written in silver on black so you kind of have to tilt it in a certain way to see it right.
Or you can just find them online osmewhere I suppose (the lyrics).
Yeah, #2 or #3. #2 if you can find it. The new one is okay but I haven't heard it enough to make any judgments.
When are you coming to Korea? |

Excellent thread! Lots of great info!
As for the OP, yeah you nailed it on the head. I'm the same way, where I can think that I'm getting to the point where I know all the important stuff and can start working on expanding my higher vocabulary, and then I'll run right into a situation where I don't know how to say something extremely simple! (the toothbrush example is perfect).
I'm just getting back into actively studying after a 3 month break. I bought some new books and it's exciting again, which is great. |

I've definately found that I'm in a rut. I speak Korean nearly all day, everyday. But not doing any study means I'm not advancing as much as I'd like. Granted the improvements I want to work on include Chinese characters, writing and reading skills and specific vocabs (really want to have more indepth conversations on politics, current events etc.)
Going to start studying again this week, for the first time in over three years. |
