Sorry to hear that - if you can drag yourself to the get-together on Sat, C & I would like to talk to you - we have good friends there, and are planning on moving there in the next 2-3 years.
Regards,
Glen |

Looks like we've fortunately lost Buddy Bradley to the spiral of whoredom. I suppose ten dollars twice nightly limits ones ability to save enough to get the hell out of there.
welcome back jajdude. I don't think a life in VN leads anywhere much, except to the clinic every month. |

That's too bad. You seemed a hell of a lot happier there than here. |

True Zed,
I was happily relieved to come here, and for 2 months or so all was OK. It has been a bit of a novelty and a lot different than Korea. But the past 2 months I've barely worked at all. So being in need of money, I figure korea is my best option. Got to make more than spend!
Give me a few months, I'm sure I'll be whining about Korea again!
I've been in touch a bit with Buddy Bradley. He wants to return as well.
Funny, as we both expressed a lot of disdain with Korea. |

Someone once said to me..
"When you are in Korea you will hate it, and when you leave Korea you will miss it"
Truest words I have ever heard. |

I guess we're all different. I left for 6 months and didn't have a plan to return and can't say that I missed it. |

I went for vacation to Europe. I missed Korea. I craved Korean food. I paid 15 Euros for a bibimbab dinner. |

I don't miss Korea really. I miss the steady 2 grand per month, job security (?), nice block schedule of afternoon-evening usually, and free room, and a buddy or two. I do not miss the food, though I do like some of it.
I still feel a little bit "ugh" seeing Koreans and the language here... though it is fun saying a few korean words to them. |

Uh, right...
There's lots of coin to be made in Vietnam... unfortunately, it requires working at three schools. I'm basically working split-shifts at three schools to earn the same amount I could in Korea or Taiwan at one school. It's too tiring over here... |

As one of my favorite movie lines goes from the best Inspector of the French Interpole:
"AH HAA! I knew I'd find you again ___________ you can't hide from me."
Hmm well sorry it did not work out for you... why not marry a sweet VC girl and take her over with you I could try to hook you up with a job in Jeju... but you might hate the smaller city of Jeju City... hmmm maybe best go back and ride the Soul Train again. I'd like to mention the past boss here but ahhh.... Er anyhow, I hope you get a fine spot teaching Kang Nam university girls who demand you give them a friendly hug when you see them, and a gentle corrective bottom smacky when they answer wrong, and constantly stuff money down your shirt... not that he'd do the second nor approve of the last as he is a conservative kindly gentleman.
ahh hey JAJa I can read Korean now you were right back then, it's easy. Umm I am going to South East Asia for vacation; Bali maybe... or another Beach place you should meet me and my buds there...
ONE of YOU Board peoples with even more charisma then me should hook this English Hero up with a University Job so he can have tons of time off... err I miss my ole mainland Hoggyone kids I wonder if they are ok... but Government / College jobs r00lz. Hey if you PM me maybe I'll send you 20,000 won so you can buy some of that black Chinese soup stuff and get a haircut...but you might try to come to Jeju hmmm not sure if you could take the 9-430 regular school hours though... |

Thanks for the good word, Toad. Actually my return may be delayed. Hope you are doing well down there in Jeju. I'm sure the winter is more pleasant, and the bike riding easier. And cleaner. Have you suffered much boredom? That has often been one of my problems, getting bored too easily.
Yeah, the korean alphabet is no problem at all, is it? Can you say a few good things now? |

Hey no boredom here- I gots the internet in my massive bathtub equipped balcony view of Mount Halla swank apartment...I even was reading a book too...I still want the next Fire and Ice series book to come out...Sometimes I get a bit bored but when this happens I just call one of the many ladies who I got in my cellie- I got a cellie now too so I'm da playa... well not really. But I made a lot of Jeju friends I can kick it wit been to a lot of teacher apartment parties here. Ahh and I still write sometimes - not as much as I should but it's a matter of discipline...
today I did the infamous American 9 year old Uranus joke... err for English teachers these Koreans need to expand their anatomical vocabulary- I told them I was not gonna divulge the meaning of this whole mystery - that secret they must open with their own dictionaries... if they so desire.
Yapoon Agoissi (Pretty girl..
In Korean I can say anan a jew say oh (hug me) and
Gangi ga za na (come here)
Yesterday after dinner with four twenty year old college punks I got one out of four to hug me goodbye... not a perfect record but at least I got to practice my anna a jou say ohh - and for the record they are NOT my students just silly kids who confuse me with Captain America. Anyhow good hunting on the job search- take care and watch out for kids like 'Jason' and 'James' their crazy punks - but you know I'd take bullet for 'em. |
