1 gig players cost about 350,000 (holds about 285 songs)
512 mb players cost about 280,000 (holds about 146 songs)
256 mb players cost about 180-200,000 (holds about 73 songs)
128 mb players would probably go for the 100K range and hold about 36 songs (the contents of two audio CDs). That said, I wonder how easy it would be to find 128 mb players. It's the year before last year's model kinda tech. If you're out and about for the day in Seoul and want a sound track for your day, 36 song might not cut it.
My advice first would be to cough up for something better. A couple years ago I bought this cheap $60 no name 64mb cheapy in the states and I hated everything about it.
My second piece of advice is to buy brand name: iriver or sony. Again you might buy some cheap Korean no name hunk but then good lucky getting english support, english drivers, or english screens. My 512 mb iriver came with english drivers/software. It was a snap to switch the menu to english.
The only thing I don't like about my iriver is you need their special transfer software to move mp3s to the flash memory. It doesn't install as a drive. I like an mp3 player where I can just use explorer to just drag and drop. |

For $100 you're not going to get a very good player at all. Anything that is decent, even for flash players is going to be looming around $150-250 usd. Why don't you google MP3 players with your budget and see what you come up with? |

The necklace deal is just a snap-on accessory, you can remove it very easily and just carry around the module itself. I've seen that player and I'd say it's top notch. |

I checked Carrefour. Your 128 mb mp3 players are going in the low 100s. You could probably swing your target price easy at Yongsan/Technomart. My 512mb iriver listed at Carrefour for 312k but I got it for 279k at Technomart.
Again, I argue bite the bullet and go for something brand name and in the 200k range. |

if you go to Yongsan station (rather than Sinyongsan) then one of the exits leads directly into an indoor multi-storey arcade. There are scores of MP3 player sellers on the first floor you come to- that's as good a place as any.
Try a few different stalls, but the prices will probably be pretty similar- good luck getting them to move on their first price too, I never can! |
