As if KOREAN soap operas aren't their own worst enemies...these thing seriously perpetuate many a stereotype, so perhaps directors/producers/writers should concern themsleves more with their own programmes before they worry about those overseas:
The evil, crazy, dying mother
The absent, heavy-drinking, domineering father
The stressed son, complete with overdone hair and make-up who wants to be a lawyer/doctor/accountant
The ditsy skinny daughter, tiny white face, who also wants to be a professional but would be happy with dad's money and a lawyer/doctor/accountant husband |
