I'm no Disco Stu but sometimes a top I'm wearing rides down and shows my chest hair (I'm no gorilla either). If the students notice you'd swear they'd suddenly want to put a burlap sack over my head, hang a bell around my neck, and force me carry a sign that says "unclean".

Freaks 'em right out.

The disturbing thing is not the photo but the fact that you immediately thought of it AND had a link to a photo. Thats disturbing Smile

I have run a boarding house in Canada and have had several young men as tennants. Two of the young men hated having ANY chest hair. One shaved the hair off and the other used a hair removing cream (normally sold to women to remove leg hair!!!!!!!).

If the chest hair is a problem to the students you have three choices. Wear shirts that don't ride down when you are working etc., remove the object of their disapproval or live with it and their objections.

I believe that in asian men, chest hair is not the norm. They may unconciously link the hair to lower class or 'barbarians'.

My students are fascinated by my arm hair.

"Ooooh, arm hair."

I just rub their heads and say, "oooh, head hair."

My students think I'm a barbarian when I randomly inspect their heads for lice and poop on the floor. What a backwards country we live in.
